7 Weeks Old!

We went to Riley on Wednesday and had Dylan's check-up with his surgeon. He thought everything looked and sounded good! Dylan weighed in at 9lbs. 1oz. and his Oxygen levels were in the high 80s, low 90s which is better than what they were in the hospital. As he gets bigger though, those levels will go down because his shunt won't be growing with him. He does get a little blue now when he cries really hard, but it will be more apparent the bigger he gets. He also said we would plan on having his surgery this fall and once the date gets closer they would determine if they will use Dylan's own tissue or something synthetic to repair the defect. If they use something synthetic, we would probably have to plan on more surgeries in the future.

It was really hard going back to Riley again. Everyone there was great, but I would have rather not been there in the first place. We're getting nervous about the second surgery since it is so major--we had to go over a few different outcomes with the surgeon which just made me even more scared. But...I know how strong Dylan is and I know he'll do great. Just please continue to pray for us because this is going to be a rough first year.

Here are a few pics of Dylan to catch everyone up! We went to church for the first time last Sunday and he did great! He did decide to fill his diaper pretty loudly during communion and got a few laughs, but he can get away with it! Dylan has also been sleeping longer at night...up to 4-5 1/2 hours before he needs a feeding! Getting him back to sleep is the hard part because he is still congested and he snorts and wakes himself up! I think our routine has really been helping. Next week we're going to try his crib out. He is still using his Boppy a lot too!

(Our routine):Bathtime with daddy...

Then eating, rocking and my lullaby CD with mommy and Jack!

Hanging out on my Boppy!

Zombie baby! Taking a nap on the couch!
